Bambii Lamb strives to bring a daydream pink vibe to both her sound and overall aesthetic. Her music can be described as ephemeral and wistful, taking the trope of conventional teen pop music and giving it a sarcastic twist.
With influences stretching from psychedelic rock to bubblegum pop with a little bit of 80s video game vibe thrown in, each song pulls you into a fully formed musical experience.
Born and raised in Gainesville, Florida, Bambii taught herself ukulele at age 12, and quickly started writing her own songs, which was a natural progression as she had also written and won awards for story writing and poetry. She started working with her music producer, Zach Rodriguez, in high school, and produced her first EP, Dreamache, in the summer before her senior year. This EP was quickly followed by the singles Sunsets and Religion, then a second EP, tell me where it hurts, in 2021.
Bambii grew up listening to a wide range of music, including Lana Del Ray, Beastie Boys, Melanie Martinez, Simon & Garfunkel, My Chemical Romance and classics from across the spectrum, and these influences show up in her music, which is an intersection of pop, retro and shoegaze with a dash of sarcasm thrown in.
Recent press:
“Her sound is a nostalgic audio slideshow, living at the intersection of glossy mid-2000s chick flicks like “Mean Girls” and “Legally Blonde” and edgier ‘90s cuts like “Jawbreaker.” Bambii delivers pop songs in a subtle yet demanding register to quickly encapsulate her listeners.”
“Under the façade of inviting instrumentals and easy, ear-catching melodies, Bambii is rolling her eyes, scoffing at the trappings and tropes of what it means to be a teen girl today. She takes these expectations and subverts them, tackling convention with a spark of sarcasm and an air of nonchalance about the whole affair.”
